It can be painful or exhilarating, but if viewed from the right perspective, it can also be a great teacher. It’s been 3 weeks since I got the call to drive down to assist my 86-year-old father.  In that time, I have been able to unpeel the layers of emotion that come with realizing that your father needs help and you are the only one in the room.
